I don't know why it continues to surprise me but every election time I am surprised and dismayed by most of the candidate options. Almost all of them suck. The most annoying ones are those who make good points at first and have me nodding and thinking they might actually be a good candidate until they start spewing batshit crazy ideas. Then there are just the totally batshit crazy candidates. Pick 4? I can't find 1!

Also - if you are running to be on some sort of Board of Education - you should probably make sure your website isn't full of spelling and grammatical errors!

So - is anyone actually happy with their local election candidate options?

If you are happy do you identify strongly with one of the two major parties?

(Yes I know P&N is that way but I want normal people's answers :) )

the city bus service has a proposition on the ballot that they really want you to vote no on, but they're campaigning as if they want you to vote yes. i think they're just trying to trick people in the burbs into voting no.

Not me. Theres 3 people running for mayor and they all pander to illegal aliens & the businesses which use them.
In fact they share similar view points on pretty much all issues.

Ditto Representative/senator. They claim to be different but do the same shit when they hit office.

Nope, not even remotely. I was particularly uninformed about this election, since I've gone out of my way to avoid propaganda about basically everything. As such, I only voted on a couple positions (President and State Rep) and a couple local isses I was familiar with. Most of my ballot was blank. Felt good to not waste my votes on shit I had no clue about.

Since I don't partake in local media, I'm kinda at a loss for this election. I know the few that I'm not voting for, but I guess that just gives their opponents a free vote. As for the big two, it doesn't matter.

Half of my local options don't even have an option. It's literally one person to choose from.

There was a position on our ballot which had the following options to choose from:

No Candidate Filed

Write In: _______

And there was a checkbox next to each line. I want to see "No Candidate Filed" take that election in a landslide.

No, but whatever.

I'm content with the fact that it looks like my fellow Michiganders are surprisingly not going to make terribly stupid choices on the six proposals.

My biggest question is why everybody has their panties all in a bunch over voter verification and whether Sandy is going to affect election results and shit.

IT DOESN'T MATTER! The election results are basically set regardless of the popular result for everything except your very local precinct/municipality elections before you even get to vote. Popular vote in this country is all but meaningless except at the most local levels of government.
