Who here has used their DL burner?

I've had a Dual-Layer DVD burner for over a year and have not once burned a DL disc. How many people out there have never burned a DL disc with their DL burner?

I've not burned a DL with mine either. While the extra space would be nice, I can't justify the cost of DL media versus SL.

I burned one DL disc because I think a pack of DVD's I bought came with a free DL sample.

It was very slow (older burner) and the discs are still too expensive.

You'd think with blue-ray and hd-dvd on the market that DL discs would be affordable

i've never used it. but i hear that the sales of DL discs are skyrocketing b/c of Xbox360 piracy. read it on cdfreaks.com

I've burnt 2 or 3. Disks aren't that bad if you find them on sale. Less than $1 each.

arent all dvd burners nowadays DL aka 9gigs capacity?

I take home videos of my 3-4 week long vacations abroad.....and thus use DL to pack as much stuff I can on one disk. It reduces my vacations disks by half obviously!

I burned a few... only to find out my Portable DVD player can't read them. Sorta defeats the purpose of making backups to take on the road so I don't damage the originals, only to find out they don't work. Oh well, next player will be able to read them, I'll make sure of that.
