Who here has the Logitech G502 Proteus Core/Spectrum? Can you tell me how much you like it and if you'd recommend it or not? Also, would you be up to answer some general questions I have about the mouse? It would be very appreciated if you could do any of the following.

What type of mouse gripper are you -- palm, claw, fingertip?

I had the G502, but found it to be way too large and heavy for my hybrid claw/FT grip. If you palm the mouse, or prefer heavy/large mice, it could be a very good mouse.

Okay, can you answer another one? Can you program the left and right scroll buttons to perform certain actions in-game? I really want to use the left scroll button to shout in Skyrim, and I want to know if that's possible.

You can map the buttons to whatever you want using Logitech's software and rebinding the button as keystrokes. You might have to remap the scroll button as some rarely used key (like page down), and map shout to this key in Skyrim.

Keep in mind that this change will be global, not just in Skyrim. I'm not sure if the software allows for different configurations depending on the active application. I don't believe it does, but could be wrong.

Me. Yeah it's a pretty good mouse, nice and comfy compared to my older Logitech M100.

I have the 502 and love it. I even bought a spare during the holiday sales so I'll have one in case my primary dies.

the 502 is considered one of the best mice available on the market by actual esports professionals.
other options include the Deathadder, Zowie Fk1/ EC-1A, g 300 series (for lightweight), Abyssus, Steelseries Rival..

google RocketJumpNinja, he has some excellent reviews and he really knows his stuff.
you might also want to check out Highlander's Mouse Guide, and Geekhack Mouse Guide.

The first one I bought broke one of the side buttons after 6 months. Logitech support was a joke. Unfortunately, I had no choice but to buy another one, since it is one of the best mice I've ever used. Very comfortable, and the location and arrangement of the side buttons really fits my hand. Hopefully this second mouse proves to be more durable.

Also, I'm pretty sure that you can load profiles in the mouse so that the buttons have different configurations in different games. I personally don't use that, since the general layout works for most of my games.

Got a naga hex and 502 on sale at end of last year and finally got around to trying each.

Love the hex, except the hex buttons are way too sensitive. Gives you plenty of options for easy multi button layouts, but you need to have a practiced grip for it.

Just opened the 502 last night. First logi mouse in a log time i've actually enjoyed. I've found most logi mice to be too big and heavy. Have had limited time with it, but only thing I have figured out yet is how to remap the two/three dpi buttons for something other than dpi. Also if a finger tip or fingertip hybrid user, the left side does have a pretty distinct channel better for a palmer so will take a little getting used to. Otherwise this is the only logi in a long time i'd personally recommend.

The spectrum version gives you a wider choice of colours for the LEDs on the mouse.

I used it for a while and packed it up into the closet. The inability to re-program the scroll wheel Up/Down bugged me until I went back to what I was using before.

You can however re-program tilt Left/Right

Apparently the Proteus Core was $80, but now the Proteus Spectrum is $80 and the Core is now $65. I'm going for the Proteus Spectrum because of it's RGB lighting. Thank you for your opinions of the mouse.
