I teach heavy equipment operation. Loaders/backhoes/graders,truck/trailer/etc.
I also teach in a driving simulator and and I am waiting for my training from AAA to become a defensive driver's trainer.

The Simulator looks similar to this but ours has controls for a front and wing plows. It also has a stick shift for 5+2/8/10/13/15 speed transmissions.

I don't work directly with movies/films/radio/media/et al folks but my job (contract compliance/auditing) allows me to interact with them and their equipments. Some of their stuffs were very interesting and some of them were very bright and some of them were a bit ecentric/strange.

I work 16 hours a day for 6 days straight, sleeping on site. My job has me overseeing the daily lives of humans and helping them learn to make right choices. This ranges from anger management to healthy food choices. I like it, not sure if anyone else would find it "cool".

I have some friends back in your part of the country. He used to be a surveyor as well. Unfortunately, the economy took his job...

Yup, that's what happened to me. I'm burned out on the work, and my body's shot. I need a job, but I'm not sure what :^/

Don't you have alarms tied in with some of those things?

Our touch panels act as virtual security keypads and provide visual feedback for zone bypass... we also tie the lights and a few other tricks to the security system... but we don't install or maintain the security systems themselves.

You didn't happen to do Bill Gates' house in Washington, did you? If so, I bet I know the guy who hired you. :)

Haha... nope. Hawaii only. Maui mainly. We do have a couple of mainland jobs going on for the military but that's mostly programming work. All of our celebrity clients have us under an NDA so I can't name drop. And as a general rule I wouldn't do that anyway.

Our non-celebrity clients do things like food flavorings, own car dealerships... one guy's grandfather supposedly invented and held the patent for the zip-tie. Nice people.

I'm a web designer / programmer, and I work from home 99% of the time. The only time I have to go into the office is for a meeting once every 2, 3, or 4 weeks.

Other than that, it's pretty much just email communication, the occasional phone conference, and programming in the comfort of my own home. My hours are pretty much whatever I want them to be, within reason.

I had a cool job before 9-11-2001, flying aerial advertising. It was a gas and as close to barnstorming as I could find.

That would be awesome to do!

I'm still a student but my current job is an online content/news editor. I set my own hours and work whenever I want. Depending on how much $ i need or time I have i can decide to pick up extra projects, works great for a college job.

Still cant compete with my brother, just graduated and he's flying the metlife blimp at sporting events

Flying plus sporting events is cool. Husky football games were one of our big money makers.
