"I bought mine from a British dude out in California for $200 brand new. He already had a Palm V and someone gave him the Compaq (16bit color screen). It retails for $400+"
Says something about Palm vs. WinCE/Pocket PC???
Just kidding. Both are good machines, but I prefer my Palm OS machine (specifically the Visor Deluxe) because I think it's the better bang for the buck, and it has better 3rd party support. In the medical and business world, having a Palm OS PDA is a must, for compatibility reasons.
"you guys w/ palm pilots.. it seems inconvienent(sp?) to take notes because there is no keyboard. Are you really good at just punching in letters one by one, or do you mainly use em for holding relevant info for yourself?"
I have a full-sized keyboard for my Visor. No it's not laptop-sized spacing, but full desktop keyboard-sized spacing. Folds up into just a bit bigger than the Visor itself. Coolest thing ever! http://www.thinkoutside.com
Anyways, I use mine for contact info, my schedule, memos, email, AvantGo, games, calculator, and databases. I have a bunch of other software installed, but I don't use those. A side benefit is that since I sync it with both my work computer and my home computer, the contacts on the two computers are always up to date with each other.
Yes, I overclock my machine too. For games I speed it up a bit, and for non-CPU intensive apps, I underclock it to extend battery life.
