After 26 years, I still enjoy going to work. I'm a paramedic/firefighter in a small-medium FD in a NW Indiana city. Something different every day, and they scenery is always changing....Getting kind of beat up physically, as i'm pushing 50y/o, and this is a young mans game. I can still outwork most of the snot-nosed-25 year oldsbut man do I pay for it the next day....

I'm in the same boat, in construction and past fifty.
Never let the kids see you suffering, no matter how bad you want to lay down and have the heart attack you so richly deserve, don't do it in front of the young bucks. You always want them to think you eat nails for breakfast and piss kerosene.
Edit. Forgot to mention that while I'm not sure if I still love what I do, I'll never give it up. After so many years it's in my blood, it's who I am and why I get up in the morning.
