And would buy another one?
Since the last thread was locked, I thought Id start another one.

Lets have car comments please, no racial bigotry.

I have had my Trans Am for 8 years on 2/22/01 and have yet to have a problem with it. I dont baby it but I dont beat it either. I have no rattles in the dash or other places (wouldnt tolerate them) and to date have replaced a battery and a set of tires. Do all my own PM.

Match that, Fix Or Repair Daily.

Well I have a 1989 20th Anniversary Trans Am, 5.7L Auto, all the toys, Posi. Its for sale too if anyone wants it :) I dont drive it but it is rattle free and very strong...sometimes too strong...or at least to tempting to put my foot into the carb. :)

How are the clutches on the GM muscle cars? Do they have the clutches that have about 10 foot of travel before they engage? That's one of my biggest problems with some of the German cars - the travel of the clutch is so freaking far that it's annoying.

I prefer shorter clutches. The ford clutch in my Mystique is pretty damn nice. It's got about 8" of travel before it engages. It sucks to learn on because you don't have much room for error, but once you get used to it, you'll be annoyed by all others.

Vi, I drove a 6Cyl Firebird before, and it had quite a bit of clutch pedal travel, but not too bad IMO

I've driven quite a few v8 F Bodies, I would definatly buy one but I;m too tall and fat to drive the current generation everyday. I would love to own one but they are just too damn small for me.

Cant say the clutch travel on my T/A is too long, maybe 8", but did put a block on the petal so I could sit a litle farther back. Like to get as far from the wheel as possible.

If I were ever going to get a V8 "muscle" car It would definently be an F-Body. I like a little more refinement though. And besides.. i dont think I could afford the Insurance on one of those bad boys!

-Matt (who's VR6 clutch has short pedal travel)

The travel is pretty long and with the better clutches that are going to handle more power (Centerforce Duel-Friction, or a King Cobra) it will also be harder to engauge. I don't mind in big trucks or Muscle cars, But I agree I drove my friends 92 Jetta a few times and I couldn't stand the clutch in that thing, I kept telling him it felt totally out of adjustment, he said it was that way since day one though.
