I had one for years and didn't hardly use it it and what really pushed me to cancel was Cingular always screwing my account. So I canceled it and haven't really missed not having one at all, especially since I don't like talking on the phone.

Most of my employment history involves significant time spent on a phone. I hate phones. If you can't reach me at home, it's because I'm not there. If I'm not there, it's because I don't want to be found. :)

I don;t even like to answer the phone at home, if it wasn't for DSL I wouldn't have a home phone.

lol, we don't pick up our home phone. The only reason we have a line is for the fax and answering machine.

Haha... that sounds a lot like my ideas about phones... if I'm not at home or at work where I can be reached by land line, then I'm some place where I don't want to be called. Frankly, I hate answering all phones.

I hate phones in general, but I'm hardly ever home (work, school, church, friends, consulting projects, etc)....so I don't have a lot of choice.

I hate phones too. If it rings, I might answer it or I might not. For this reason I have no desire for a cell phone.

I don't even answer the phone at home. I only answer the phone at work. People know where to find me if they wanna find me, see no point in a cell phone.

My cell phone has served me very well, I don't even have a home phone. The only thing that pisses me off is people who only have cell phones that don't pick up (left on vibrate, left phone in car, etc etc.

whoa! I'm not alone!

I hate cell phones. Hate is probably not a strong enough word. I detest cell phones. If you want to reach me, I'm at home, at work, or doing something that I enjoy. If I'm doing something that I enjoy, don't bother me.

The same applies to me, but my mom is paranoid enough that she handed me one before I started high school two years ago. I use it more often as an alarm clock and timer than as a phone.

i have a cell phone, because my parents got a family plan, and insisted that i get one.

how long can i remain on this family plan for? does it stop when i move out? I'm with Verizon.

having a cell phone is okay, but like others say, its pretty annoying getting called when u dont want to be reached, but then again if i had my own land line, i wouldnt even know who was calling unless i had caller id.

landlines tend to be around $20 a month I think, and a cell phone isnt much more, so maybe i should just keep having a cell phone.

i guess i can always refuse to pick it up if i dont want to talk right then.

+1

However I hardly ever pick it up when someone calls. If its that important they will leave a message and I will call them back, however they usually dont.

Hmm, I've been living with both parents (seperated so two different houses) over the summer. I've come to loath landlines. At college all I have is my cell, so when I want to take a nap set it on vibrate/silent and no one will bother me until I'm ready to wake up on my own. At my parent's place everytime I take a nap someone calls, and its normally whoever I'm staying with calling to ask me soemthing/check in etc. etc. How freaking annoying?

i've had one for about three years now, and i find it very useful

it's my primary contact with work, my gf when i'm away from home, and pretty much everyone except my parents, who refuse to call it in the belief it will cost them vastly more than the landline ;)

It wakes me up most mornings too, and reminds me of stuff :)
