I got a cell phone last year and dropped the landline. If nothing else I like it because I don't have telemarketers calling me 3 times a day, leaving blank messages in my voice mail, etc.
 
I have a pre-paid one that I only use for emergencies. Actually it came in quite handy last Thursday when a friend & I helped report a severly drunk driver.

Cell phone junkie here. I just bought a Samsung S100...gonna get a Panasonic GD87 soon too.

Be considerate though. If you're in a public place where people want quiet, turn the thing to silent and don't talk when it will bother other people.

Same here. My wife has a pre-paid one, but it isn't on unless she makes a call.
