I replaced all mine with Pella's from Home Depot. I think only Lowe's carries Pella windows now. Seems like it cost around $1500. I did it all myself, though. I didn't do storm windows.

It's the same as asking "how much is a new car?".
To answer we need to know how many windows and what size, we need to know what type and brand of window you want, and if they will go into the existing frames, or you want to cut back the siding and replace the whole thing. The price can vary by many thousands of dollars.

Avoid Jeldwin windows

I guess the windows are fine, but they hired (at least in our area) shoddy installers

They let drafts in, really bad, and Jeldwin National didn't do anything about it
They finally did when we threatened to take legal action
I am proudly part of a suite happy nation :)

It eventually got fixed, kinda, after spending a lot more to fix them, and for extra oil (as they were less energy effecient than teh 1980s windows on there before).

Jeldwin will never get my business again

Every window place I know of gives free in-home estimates. Call a few places and have them come out. Then go price them at Lowes or something if you want to do it yourself. We paid close to $7k to do our house which was 9 windows of varying sizes. All double hung. 5 double pane glass and 4 triple pane.

Want me to try and find my uncle's brand of insulated windows from his home?

He had 4 feet of water in his 2nd floor thanks to Katrina and none of his windows were damaged (dead-bolted garage door and the garage door itself were the entry points for the storm surge)

filled up...... went back out.......

Yes, mine were standard sizes. I actually had a couple that weren't, but I made the hole larger or smaller, depending on the case. So, I also ended up doing some drywall and siding along with installing my windows. I blocked off about half of the old windows as well.

Windows and siding. Two of the easiest jobs with some of the highest markups. That's why so many people are in one business, the other, or both. Are you going to do it, or have someone else?

The price could range from $200 (if someone only had one window) to over $10000 (if someone had a mansion and had 200 windows)

You really need to tell us at the very minimum HOW MANY windows you are replacing...

I would expect to pay between $200-$400 per window (installed)

I paid about $8000 for windows in a house a few years ago. About half of it was for two 8X4 picture windows though. Probably about middle of the road quality.

6 standard size windows
2 picture windows
1 36" door
