Who hates the new Western Digital hard drive packaging

What the fvck is with the new packaging? This is torture. It is nice and compact and hell to open.


It is packaged in complete plastic, very thick plastic and is see through and clear (the only thing I like about).
 
Its b/c retail stores were having a problem with people buying hard drives, replacing with older hard drives and repackaging them. Just be glad you didn't get it home and find a 10gb 5400 rpm drive in there. 😉😛

This way the upc and serial are trackable without having to open the box.
 
Nice for Hot Deals. You can see that it's a 200GB HDD inside, not a 160GB as packaged. 😉 I agree it's a pain opening the packaging, at least you know that you're getting what you paid. Plus, there would be no excuse returning/exchanging it claiming that it was not the right product inside.
 
To open it, get a utility knife and pierce the edge and slice it around. You can make 3 different slices, one on each side. Leave one connected then it seves as a flap. Enjoy!

I have the same S&W SWAT knife only in black, and yes it opens blister packs just fine 😀
