Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the people most affected by his policy change are the ones most likely to hate the man.

To me, it sounds like they are educated.

That's the interesting part of discussions like this, IMO. The perception of Obama's impact (and Democratic policy impact in general) is pretty far away from reality. The specific complaints are usually about how liberal policies are unfair to the rich, but somehow this results in the perception that those same policies are directly hurting the middle-class, or even the working poor. And as your comment demonstrates, it's not even that those people are perceived as being directly impacted, it's that they are impacted the MOST.

We don't all have to agree on political issues, but if people are going to "hate" someone, it would be better if they did it for accurate reasons.

The article's title is needlessly provocative. From my reading the poll doesn't say "hate", it merely says support for Obama has dropped to 29%. That's crappy journalism (if it's journalism at all) to report this as "hate".

It's a strange set of groups to compare:

A) Catholics

B) White men without college degrees

C) Tech CEOS

D) Seniors

Looks like the thing is rigged to make "white" guys w/o college degrees stand out.

How about just guys w/o degrees? Well, I suppose that would blow the whole racist angle the author is going for.

Men have been hit disproportionately hard in this economic downturn, much more so than women. I would expect (don't have time to confirm with google now) that those w/o college degrees were hit harder than those with. So, this result appears perfectly understandable. No need for this gratuitous race-baiting douche-baggery.

Ya know, self-aware people might actually stop for a moment to consider why this group is lukewarm in its support of Obama and disagrees with some liberal policies. They might then use this insight to do some soul-searching into their policies, evaluate if they actually were as helpful to the working poor as they believed, and if some of those policies might be tweaked.

And then there's the other approach; simply assuming that they vote and feel that way because of racism or lack of awareness of their own self-interest. Sometimes I guess folks would rather lose an election or two than actually critically self-examine their own dogma.
