I like ads. I am a subscriber to AT but I use the non-subscriber forums so that I can see the pretty ads. THey are quite interesting, and often intuitive in their approach.

no shes only like that at the end of the month 😉

I visited a website looking for Quake III Arena console commands; upon leaving the site, it automatically downloaded and installed Virtual Bouncer - a lovely spyware package. Gotta love their website too (don't think you'll get spyware from IT anyway) - contact info

and a download link. Sure looks legitimate doesn't it...
Spybot S&D did a fine job of cleansing the system after the infection.

Here's the link to the offending site, as a warning to others:
**WARNING: SPYWARE WITHIN**
SPYWARE PAGE
**WARNING: SPYWARE WITHIN**

Visiting the page seems harmless; leaving the page is the fun part - clicking the link on the bottom will definitely do the trick. It does an assortment; once it gave me Virtual Bouncer, the next it was GAIN, then Xupiter. (I went back intentionally to see how bad the site really was; I'm not that slow.😉) At the bottom of IE, on the status bar, it'll tell you that it's installing some EXE file.
