I just got a new stick of ram, and I'm having trouble getting my computer to work. I'm also having problems with my video card. I have an asus board, and they're tech support doesn't really help. I have a k8n mobo (just k8n, nothing on the end). I have two 512 pc3200 corsair valueselect sticks of ram. My mobo manual tells me to put one stick in dimm1 and dimm3, but when I do so it doesn't boot (doesn't post at all). It doesn't make any sounds out of the case speaker either. If I try either one of the sticks in dimm1 then they both work (but obviously not at the same time), so it can't be the ram, but must be the mobo (right?). The tech support technician had me unplug the power, take out the battery, and clear the cmos. This didn't work either. Same exact problem. Anyone have any ideas?

I think he was meaning the General Hardware room here.

Here they talk about really highly technical stuff, like how the universe will end or somesuch, not about fixing PC's

Have you tried every combination of RAM sticks / slots available?

Yes, I've tried every combination possible. Sorry that I put this in the wrong thread, I'll move.
