our A/V server is a 1.3ghz, that's the slowest I own. (my rig is 2.4ghz)

My server is a celeron 667 w/ 256 mem.

I will be upgrading to a 2.53 P4 for Xmas and my son will inherant my wife slow 850 P3

The logocal order of evelution is

Me - I get the fastest stuff.
Wife- she gets the stuff I replace through upgrades
Son - what ever we can find.

I will be building the new system with the intel reatial buy plan , then I just need to buy the case HDD, Floppy, and memory.

I am going to keep my video card, and sound card.

Basically my wife qand son fight over the scraps

I do have a slow compaq 400 laptop that I use when traveling. I just can't justify getting a new laptop.

Doh, I almost made it.. PII 233 on a 440LX board, 2Gb HD, Voodoo3 3000 AGP. I have an 8Gb HD to swap in..and my XP1600+ should be in tomorrow or Tuesday. I have a whole pile of Socket A motherboards here..but no processors to run in them..(Iwill KA266-R, Shuttle AK31, Asus A7N266-VM, Gigabyte GA-7DX, and a Shuttle AK32L going back to newegg for RMA)...I've been on a 233 since July.

my slowest is a dual celeron 466 w/ 512 MB PC100 acting as my ftp server.
my main computer is a 1.3 t-bird w/ 1 GB PC2100.

my brother has a Duron 700 w/ 384 MB PC133
my parents have a K6-266 that i gave them so they would stop bothering my brother.

my fiance has an XP1800+ that i built her for her birthday. (does anyone else find it strange that i built my fiance a faster computer than mine instead of putting the new parts into mine and giving her my hand me downs?)

up until 2 months ago i did have a dual P-90 that i would occasionally use to play with linux just to see how well it would run.

actually, i'm pretty happy with the speed on my duron 700. I dropped a voodoo 3 3000 in it, 512 total memory, and a ton of hard drive space. It suits me perfectly. However, i have an intel p4 1.7ghz chip (retail) and intel mobo just sitting in my closet collecting dust. I've opened them both once and never installed them. I think i have memory and a PSU to go with it, just never got around to building it up.

My desktop is really nice, but I regularly use a 486/66 NEC laptop. It actually works fine with Win 95 for Word.

I have a working Pentium Pro 133, 1.85 gb HD, Asus TX97 mobo, 32mb RAM, S3 Virge, and a Pioneer 12x CD-ROM. It isn't my main computer though. My main computer and only computer I use on a regular basis is a Athlon XP 1700+, Abit KR7A-Raid, WD 100gb, Hitachi GD-5000 8x DVD, CenDyne 32x CD-RW, Winfast GeForce2 MX200, 3Com ethernet, and Creative Soundblaster Audigy OEM.

Actually, I called a few of those charities because I had a bunch of old 286 and 386 systems and a whole flock of VGA monitors gathering dust in my basement. All in fully functional condition, BTW.
I was really astounded that they wouldn't accept any of this stuff as a donation, even if I delivered it to them.
I am not wealthy by any means, and all of that old stuff was 'salvaged' from an old employer.
I really don't understand why little Johnny can't learn the basics of computer operation on an older (OK - real old!) system.

My main is an Athlon 1.2 but I also have a Duron 800 and a K6-2 500 and I may soon be adding an Athlon XP 1700+.
