My second computer has to be one of the oldest and slowest on this site;

PIII 450 Mhz (bought it new in '97 or '98)
WIN 98SE
512 PC133 RAM
Diamond Viper V770 Ultra (Nvidia) Video card
Maxtor 40.0 GB @ 7200 RPMS
Generic sound card

Still runs fine, just old.

486 DX/66 running Win 3.x with 8 MB of RAM and a 400 MB HDD -- not what I'm using right now, though. It's my DOS system, for running old games from my collection.

Slowest one that I still use is a P166 with 64Mb of RAM and a 3 Gb HD. It runs 98 and does pretty much just word processing and Email. My compy ownz j00!

NOTE: I ACTUALLY use this one. Its not just sitting around. Usually when the family is using my rig. If you wanted to go with the slowest OWNED comp. It would be my 386 33Mhz DOS box. It doesn't even have 6.22 on it. Only 5 :(

The monitor is amber....it's cool.

Damn, I didn't know that peeps are still running 3.x OS.:Q

I guess, if it's running just fine, why bother with it.:)

Only reason is has 3.x on it is that was what it was running when I acquired the system. Eventually I will probably just reload it with MSDOS 6.22 or something.

My everyday work PC is a 5-year-old PII 266Mhz, 96MB RAM, 4GB disk, NT 4.0. When we get new PCs, I give them to the people actually doing the work. All mine needs to do is run Microsoft Office and Outlook.

I think people appreciate that I don't grab the hottest machine just for bragging rights.

I would have a nice slow P3/500 if Shopss.com didn't scam me back in 2000 :(

I have three machines. My slowest is a 486 DX-4/100 running DOS 6.22, Win 3.11. It will still get on the web if I needed it. I use it to check old DOS progs like NC controlled testers. My main machine is a 1.33 GHz T-bird, and my backup is a 650 MB Slot A Athlon.

I have one test prog that runs on both my 486 and my Slot A 650, but it locks up on my T-bird due to timing issues.

Have a Pll 266 with a Biostar MBoard with 1X apg. Had to set the jumpers on my Kyro video card to 2X (don't have 1X). Runs all the software I use, but most new hardware needs a faster cpu.

I am still using a Pentium 166 with 96 meg RAM and 2 gig hard drive. I still use it for email, posting on ATOT, and as a web server. It is very reliable.

At work I get to use a dual Xeon 2.0 gig system with 1 gig of RAM.. I guess between the two, it balances out at about 1.5 gig.

I was going to say mine but then I saw the word desktop.... I'm currently using a Pentium 120MHz laptop w/ 40MB of ram. I'm using it as my main rig right now because my P4 2.4GHz got fried. :( I got this thing hooked up to my 19" monitor and a keyboard, mouse, and printer so basically it's like a desktop....
