Really, what use could a 66mhz Packard Bell possibly be.
Please have mercy and put the Packard Hells out of their misery.

I have a P4 2.4 with 2 gig memory and a HP laptop with p3 800mhz, 256 mb which is pretty useless. Thinking of building an amd 64 based system and using the P4 2.4 for word processing 😀

XP 2100+ OC'd higher
XP 2500+ Barton
Work Laptop
Wifes PC

I have a celeron 450 in the garage doing nothing, plan to upgrade a sisters PC w/ that one... she's still running a K6-233 I donated to her a while back. I'm waiting on her to come by one day... she doesn't appear to be in a rush.

At one point I had 6-7PC's but I've consolidated. That happened after I got married... whip-crack. Ouch.

I used to do that alot, but then I got tired of supporting them. I still do tech support on a computer that I haven't owned for about 5 years.

... and now name each of their purposes...

Unless you're studying/practicing for MCSE/Cisco certs or otherwise, I can't see why anyone would need more than 2 PCs+kids' PCs.

3 desktops built by me:
P4 2.53 / XP Pro / Mine
AMD 1.33 / XP Pro / Wife's
AMD 1.0 / XP Pro / Daughter's

2 Laptops:
P3 600 / Win2K / Wife's for when on the road
P1 233 / Win 98 / Mine for when on the road

rh71:
Sure 🙂

AthlonXP 2000+ general use
1GHz Athlon: watching movies
300K6-2: something I got for free and am trying some stuff out on (damn small linux and Knoppix)
I forgot to list the 233K6 that's an MP3 player on my desk here at work
P100: router/http/ftp server. Doesn't do much of the latter given it's connection to the internet is in the audiable range.

2100+ AMD Home Built
2100+ AMD Shuttle SN41G2 XPC
1600+ AMD Home Built (daughter computer)
400mhz PII Home built (wifes box)
HP Vectra Dual PPro 200mhz server (toy linux box, but has been powered off for a while)
HP Vectra Single PPro 200mhz server (also powered off)
Dell Pentium 200MMX (also just taking up space)

and a bunch of misc parts

Bah... PC for general use and another for watching movies ? I'm not pointing fingers at anyone specifically, but why can't you do that on the same PC ?

My 1.0GHz serves as all of the above (including one-time web/ftp server). Not that I really care, but I don't see why you'd need another PC for any reason... unless it's occupied doing 12-hour dvd encodes.
