I'm looking for the hard drive mobile rack. It looks pretty useful for me but I'm worry about the connection problem. If you plug and unplug the IDE drive too often, will it causes any defective on the drive (e.g. the pin)?

Please post the PRO and CON of the hard drive mobile rack. Thanks!

I have an IDE one. My friends and I all have them actually. It's pretty useful to exchange gigs of data at a time. I honestly can't think of any con's for having a mobile rack on your PC, besdides it taking up a 5 1/4 slot on your case.

I don't see why there would be any problem with connecting it repeatedly.

I saw some on eB@y stated that it is ATA100/66/33 compatible.

Is the IDE cable plug DIRECTLY to the back of hard drive (the mobile rack just acts like a case) OR We plug the hard drive into the mobile rack, then we plug the IDE cable to the rack's pin instead of hard drive's pin?

Simplify:

IDE cable <-> HDD OR
IDE cable <-> Mobile rack <-> HDD

IDE Cable >> Mobile Rack internal casing..

Then you have the HD inside the removable case which just slips in and connects...

I have 3 SCSI ultra 2 racks which i now have no use for since all my hd's are ultra 160... :(
