Hey if they get old change them

I find it useful to know when programs are opening and closing etc. ;)

I turned them off too. I hate them.

I can usually tell if a program is opening or closing by the fact that I clicked an icon, hit "close", etc.

The only thing enable was email... and I had the wav file made at the IBM website... I dunno if its still active or not.. you type in a sentence and the file is played realtime.... so its said... "Sam, you have some excellent email" .. I turned it off after a while... cause my coworkers would jump each time the voice would come up on my speakers... :)

<< event sounds are bad... winamp is the only event that you need >>

Exactly. Except I find it useful to have trillian sounds enabled so that I can have a conversation with someone and minimize the window and work while I wait for them to type (nobody types as fast as I do :p ), except I can't do that at work.

When I was at home (living with parents and family), I had my incoming messages sound set to Brain (from Pinky and the Brain) saying "You may call me noodle noggin". I chose it because it was long and loud, so if I was in another room I could still hear when I got a message. I got used to it so it didn't bother me, but it just about drove my roommate up the wall when I went to college...needless to say, I don't have it anymore. :)
