I own almost all the canon cameras

started with
s100
s110 - still own
s200
s400 - still own
sd110 - still own

The only reason I bought a sd110 was that my dell has both slots, cf + sd.. plus the sd110 was a bit smaller than the s400. Too bad battery isn't the same..

I only had the sd110 for a few weeks, haven't really used it as much but it seem to take great pics.. battery last just as long as my s400.. its a nice cam to have. There are smaller but I love the canon cameras... never had problems with it..

Lebeau,

Do you know what the main differences between the SD110 and SD400 are?

I just purchased an S410 + 256SD Card from buy.com for $361 after $15 coupon for new customers. I think it's a pretty good deal. What do you think RossMAN?

You got an ok deal, I could have saved another $20 but that would be from two different merchants.

Rossman, I paid 48.50 for the Kingston SD card. They each have 15.00 rebate so, that makes 'em about $33 a piece.

Did I get ripped?

I decided to get the SD110. I purchased at amazon for$254. I could get it cheaper, but I'm leaving monday and needed it ASAP, and Amazon guaranteed a friday delivery for $10.

That is a fine price. :)

I wonder if it would be possible to buy an sd100. I remember amazon was selling it not so long ago for quite a bit cheaper.

This is rebate free too. I don't mind juggling merchants but I am kind of averse to rebates. Anyway, thanks!

I EDC (Every Day Carry) a SD10. It's smaller than my cellphone and is 4.0MP. Takes amazing pics and video considering its size. It's the perfect camera for what I bought it for.

No matter where I go, nothing will escape being photographed or video'd. :)

Cheers!

I'm looking at the sd110 it has manual mode, i dont know what the main differnce between the sd110 and s400 are.. i can look at the box when i get home..

for me, i think the battery last pretty long, i take a pic here and there.. not like 100 in a day.. the charger is very small you can carry it around..

i can try to take a pic of something and host it..

DigDug, Lebeau, do me a favour and sign up for an account at CanonTalk.net when you get a chance. We're looking to enlarge our set of hosted pictures so that other site visitors can come and take a look at the quality of pictures the Average Joe can produce with their Canon digicams. :)

sd110 and s400... sd is smaller, and shorter zoom. Also, being smaller, suffers more from red eye I believe. 3 vs 4 MP as well I think. I was going to dump my s400 for an sd110 actually, i really like the smaller footprint... but...I would lose more money than I care for. the s400 is fine :) now to just start shooting more w/ my rebel..

and do they have easy access to internet cafe's? My friend went to europe and uploaded all his pictures to my site when he could. he has a 4MP olympus, but uses SM....

oh, my canon path:

S10
S330
S400
Digital Rebel

There's a nikon 2100 thrown in there cause it was cheap. got it probably a few weeks before the a60's fell in price :(

I got an SD110 for my moms birthday a month ago - it's a really nice camera. I was surprised how something so small, and not expensive, can take such great pictures. Even the video feature is pretty impressive. It almost makes me want to get rid of my big ol 5MP camera.

I highly recomend you look at the Canon S60. It will give you amazing pictures, and isn't that much bigger than the SD110.

The manual mode on the SD110 and S400 are basically the same, you can select some settings like ISO but that is it.

isn't that much bigger? I dunno about that one.. maybe if you have giant hands they'd both feel small.. but the sd110 feels much smaller that the s4/5/6x

You are right.

I thought the SD110 was similar in size to the S500/S4X making the S60 only 1 inch longer, and 0.3 inches fater which I thought wasn't much. But I was wrong on both counts. The S60 is much biger than the S500/S4XX and the S500/4XX is much bigger than the SD110.
