Who has the best free domain hosting service?

Sorry I didn't know where to put this and I didn't want it in OT.

I just registered a domain and I want to find a decent free host. Most important to me are no banners and the highest bandwidth and space. Any suggestions?
Obviously a paid domain is going to be better but any suggestions in this arena?

You are listing two things that don't really have much to do with each other. Domain name hosting doesn't really need high bandwidth and there are never banners because it is just DNS hosting. Space and no banners is webhosting.

the only free DNS hosting I know of is .tk, but you get adds. I suggest just yahoo domains $2 for the first year for a domain name.

Well I guess this goes to show my ignorance on the subject. I just purchased a domain from godaddy and I want to find a free site that will host my website for the time being. Is my terminology incorrect?

I've always liked tripod.com. 20mb for free and it's fairly quick. If you have a bunch of images you want to share, you can put the images on something like image shack and hotlink them from your tripod site.

For simple websites, you can actually use Google Apps For Your Domain, or Windows Live Services. Dunno how much bandwidth and space you're allowed though.

Personally, I used Google Apps because I love using gmail with my domain name. Then a use blogger, and picasaweb photo gallery with a regular google account, and have everything pointing to where they should via the name service (namecheap in my case).
