who has played poker at a casino before?

Just be prepared mentally. The games are a lot slower than they are online. It's also easier to lose interest or even get tired while sitting for for along period of time.

In my limited experience, it depends on the time of day that you play. If you play during somewhat normal hours, it should be pretty tame and enjoyable (provided you are winning). However, if you play into the early morning, it can be another story.

A couple of weeks ago, I was playing at the new poker room at Caesars in AC @ 6am and actually left the table b/c it got so bad. On my table, I had one guy calling another a F_g, a Jesus freak preaching to me on my left and bitter 40yr old man sitting across from me who verbally abused every dealer who sat down, practically driving one of the more sensitive female dealers to tears. It was entertaining though and I left up overall.

If you play strong poker and someone sucks out on you, don't berate their play, encourage it. A bad beat means you have found a profitable table. Just continue to play strong, and you should see the chips coming your way.

i just played at the Luxor and the Bellagio 2 weeks ago. good times at both. only once did i get a dealer that wasn't super nice. the other players were nice for the most part. thing is, everyone has their modes they get into when playing a serious game. so they won't always be peachy attitudes.

Yeah, it's funny how that can work. The next day after my experience above, I sat down at a 1/2NL table and played for 6 hours. I bought in for $300 and left with $303. I wonder what I gave the dealers in tips and the house in rake though.

I've always had a good time. I don't go with money that I intend on keeping either though... If I do or did, so much the better.
Tas.
