I had a thread in Off Topic but no one seemed to care, hopefully the people in here wont do the same

I know of plenty of people that ordered from Dell that got in about a week to two weeks ago. Some may still be waiting though I suppose...

Rand, Dell's system for fulfilling orders is somewhat messed up. I ordered on 10/2 and have yet to receive my card. Others that ordered up to two weeks later have received cards.

I finally sent an email to Michael Dell, got a reponse back from him or an admin masquerading as him that indicated they weren't aware of the problem. After I passed on some additional info, they realized how big of an issue it really is. Short story is that they aren't as wired into their distributors as one would think so things have been shipping out of order.

Another complicating factor... ATI's yields haven't been too good. So they can't keep up with regular demand.

Chubbz the reason why you didn't get a response... this topic has been beaten to death.

I ordered mine on 10/28 and SHOULD (ha!) be shipping on 11/20.... oh wait, hey, that's TODAY!! I'm not getting my hopes up.
Before Christmas is good enough for me... maybe there will be another set of drivers out by then...

I'm in the same boat...I got my new p4 arse kicker sitting in the corner collecting dust because dell hasn't shipped mine. I ordered on the Oct 2nd as well. They told me when i called that "they will be shipping more out friday", but i've taken that with a grain of salt, because they've never gotten those ship dates right before.

However, a GF3 ti200 is looking like a temp. fix until dell ships mine, which might be sometime before christmas..;)

I ordered a Radeon 8500 a while ago from dell. But they kept dicking me around saying my order would get delayed. I ordered Oct 3rd, got an eta of the 7th, then the 15th, then 30th, then nov 7th and finally nov 29th.

When it was delayed from the 30th to the 7th, and from the 7th to the 29th, dell said they would cancel my order automatically if I didn't respond to their e-mail. The first one, I responded too because I wanted my card, but then when they delayed it on the 29th, they called me and I told the lady I would cancel it.

Fast forward to today, after I bought my Geforce 3 Ti-200 from Best Buy a couple days ago for 99 dollars, my card arrives in the mail! What is the deal with that? Which one should I keep? I paid 203 for the Radeon 8500

Kind of sucks to have 2 video cards

I ordered mine on 10/3/01 and am still waiting for my card. The eta has been bumped around so many times, but i think now it like the 29th. Its sucks but i want the card for $203.

Honestly I don't think it's worth the hassle. I had mine on order for over 3 weeks before I gave up and paid about $100 more for a Ti500. I've had nothing but problems dealing with the dell accessories store. I'd try buy.com or similar stores with a little better track record.

Azn, smack both cards in and give us your opinions. Always great to hear more views... gives me more time to decide whether or not I should keep the card :D. Only reason why I'm sticking with Dell is the 30 day return policy. Giving ATI one more chance with the drivers... and if they suck I'm getting a Gainward GF3 for $229 and waiting for the next round of cards.
