In all the Wal-Marts I have been in they have the plastic bags on this carousel and they fill them up and then spin them.
It is SO easy to forget a bag.
I did it again today.
Ever happend to you?
How much stuff do people leave behind and Wal-Mart gets to sell again?
Do you think Wal-Mart adopted this checkout system to make money off merchandise left behind?

On a semi-related note, my brother picked up 3 Nintendo Wii nunchuks the other day from Target(amongst other things) but they charged him for 4. He didnt notice until he got home, he went back the next day and they adjusted the price for him without a problem.

Just so you know, when you do that, all you need to do is go to or call the customer service desk and explain, they will give you the item. If they don't find it, they will let you go get another off the shelf and take it. All you need is your reciept

Where I used to work, they would also check the security tape and/or left and paid items book (if you left it in the store), just to make sure you actually did leave something.

My wife has.

Left behind my ass. Usually the next person in line grabs your stuff. I have gotten other peoples stuff and have ran out after paying to give it to them or dropped it off at the CS counter.

My GF left a $60 dish set once, by the time I noticed it gone it was to late. I bought it after I moved in a new place so stuff just got threw around. Didn't notice it gone till we got settled in. We called but there was no help.

We left some baby stuff one time but luckily the woman who checked us out ran us down all the way outside.

I've done this twice in the last 6 months and they've never questioned me on it. However I never would have known this was possible had my wife not worked there in college. I don't think its a policy they like to advertise, for obvious reasons.

I went 3 days before Thanksgiving and bought the Turkey and all the trimmings.

I get home and realized I missed the bag with the Turkey in it...

I've done it-not at Walmart but at the 99 cent only store.

The gal at checkout just leaves the bags on the counter and if you forget a couple--good for them.

People leave all kinds of stuff in their carts in the parking lot. I once found a whole watermelon.

If something is left behind, it's supposed to go to the service desk in case the customer comes back/calls for it. For some reason they don't come back for things very often (so far as I've seen).

Probably the weirdest thing I've ever come across was a wheelchair. Pretty good condition, just sitting there inside the door. I figured the person switched over to one of the electric scooters, but it's pretty dumb to just leave a wheelchair behind.

I left a roast once. Didn't know it till I was back home, had to go all the way back to the store about 8 miles out to get it. They had it in a mini-fridge at the CS desk and didn't even ask me for my receipt.

Well as long as we're in the, stupid things I've done confession mode, I once pre-paid for gas inside the station, walked back to my truck and drove off. ( that's right Virginia, WITHOUT pumping the gas).

I left a bag full of frozen meat at the grocery store once. Didn't realize until I got home. Fortunately I was able to go back and get it.

It's also not unheard of for me to buy a bag of sand in the winter (for weighting down the rear of a RWD car, for those of you unfamiliar with winter driving :p) at the gas station and forget to grab it on the way out.
