I was going to flash mine today, but then i saw that it said that i had to make a bootable DOS disk and then add the file to it. Then i realized i dont know how to make a bootable DOS disk. Can anyone help me on this one?

you dont have to with the 8k7a.

Take a blank floppy. Stick the .rom file on it. Reboot, hit Alt+f2 during post. Hit enter a few times. Ta da.

But to make a bootable floppy go into control panel - add/remove programs - startup. Or in command prompt type format a: /s Depends on what kind of bootable disk ya want.

squrrelman, download this file, it is a custom made disk for flashing BIOSes, basically, it just doesn't have the drivers so you don't have to wait while it sets up all the drivers to get to the A:\ prompt. :p I haven't used it, but it makes sense. I'll be using it tomorrow when I update my 8K7A's bios (once I get it set up- TunaBoo over there wants me to lap my heatsink ;)).

Eh, just put it on your hard drive, hit F8 while booting, select safe command prompt, get to the file and flash. No need for floppy for this one.
