Anyone have an "android" phone? Also who has the best Android phone?

If so how do you like it?

I have an original Droid, and it is the best. Everyone knows this.

I think Oldsmoboat has the best phone.

Seriously though Aquaman, do you want a keyboard, big, medium, or small screen, hacker friendly, carrier preference, price range, subsidized, unsubsidized, Hello Kitty case availability???

I agree with you on the display, but while the Galaxy S has a better graphics chip, the cpu on the Droid X is faster, so it's kind of a wash.

Arguable. IPS shows accurate colors and good rendition. The Droid 2 and Droid X excel here. Hell the original Droid is fine too. Galaxy S has the better AMOLED when compared to the HTC phones but it depends what you want. I prefer accurate colors yet with decent sunlight legibility and good brightness.

The cpu in the Droid X is just a standard Cortex A8 @ 1ghz while the cpu in Hummingbird is a modified Cortex A8 that is ~5-10% faster at equal clock speeds so it's faster than the one in the Droid X

I'm pretty sure some of the custom roms available for the galaxy S phones correct the color calibration issues making their Super AMOLED display superior to IPS in every conceivable way.

We've had threads on this with people comparing the screens with testing and every phone screen under-saturates as much as an AMOLED over-saturates. The only phone with the closest possible colors is the original Droid. Even all the other Droid variants undersaturated a lot. So if you want accurate colors stay with the orginal Droid, no other modern smartphone has it right, iPhone 4, Galaxy S, etc, they're all inaccurate the same amount.

I have a Samsung i7500. It's a pile of steaming poo. Even though the Galaxy S phones have nice hardware I would never buy another Samsung phone. They are simply terrible at supporting them.

best phone= Nexus one
Best plan = $5 3g internet plan via T-mobile

Best phone and cheapest plan is a WIN WIN WIN. I have no reason to even look anywhere else unless tmobile drops me. If the Nexus S can be ran on the same plan, i MIGHT get it.

I'm looking at spending under $300.

I want something to use as a phone & pda. Not willing to spend so much on an iPhone.

Not interested in rooting or hacking. Unlocked because I'm in Canada.

Medium size screen and Keyboard would be nice but not essential.

I figured I'd get a smartphone so I don't have to carry around a phone and a pda.

I've been looking at Samsung GT-i5500 Galaxy 5 and GT-i5800 Galaxy 3 on Amazon. Anyone have any of these phones?

Also Hello Kitty case would be awesome ^_^

Tmobile service is very spotty and horrible, at least here in NE Kansas. I've had them and would never ever recommend anyone using them in this part of the country.

The Droid.
No motorola bullshit.
No verizon bullshit.

Its the best.
Also, gorilla glass, which is not just a marketing ploy. The stuff really is awesome. From this point on I will never consider any touchscreen device unless it has gorilla glass or some equivalent.
