I rented a cottage for a week in July. Same one I did last year. On a river up in the Kawarthas area of Ontario.

I usually don't make any specific plans but I try to get as much stuff done as possible that can't easily be done in winter. Summers are so short and go by so fast I usually only get a fraction of it done.

as someone who grew up in the DMV area, you picked possibly one of the worst times to visit dc. it's going to be muggy as hell and sssssoooooo crowded.

I know. We just figured that since we are usually out of the country (We were in England last July 4th of all places) that we needed to balance it out by being in DC for one. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the crowds at Disney for NYE.

shut the front door

Ill be in Boston the 9th thru the 15th :p

visiting my twin brother

Damnit - it wouldn't be until the 21st. :hmm: I am assuming you are flying? I will likely be around O'Hare on the 15th

Have a half-marathon on Sunday to kick off the season. Moving from Vancouver to Toronto in mid-July. Another half-marathon in August, plus a wedding in San Francisco. Then TIFF at the beginning of September. Going to be a pretty busy summer.

Thats cool. Thought you might be famous lol. I have done tiff for 8 years now..in a working capacity though. Still lots of fun.

Heh, definitely not famous. So you volunteer or officially working? It's quite the event; must be a pain in the ass to organize.

Party Rental company always calls me up during that nightmare to deliver everything you need for high scale parties. I only drive the truck for that and hockey hall of fame week.

Easy money if you have the temperament for that.

Cool. I'm getting my car shipped out, but driving in that city looks like a big pain in the ass, so not sure how much I will use it. Good on you man for suffering through it. :D

Give it a couple of days and it will feel normal. Just be a defensive driver is all I can tell you.

Trip to DC over the 4th, Work trip with maybe some free time to Boston middle of July, Hawaii end of July early August and then up to Traverse City towards the end of August

Hopefully skydiving this Saturday but the weather has already forced a couple of reschedules.

Might take scuba diving lessons but my free time is filling up fast

You'll be able to see my house from there while you're up in the air
Haha, nice. Are you going through Tecumseh for skydiving too?

So you're going in Summer but when you get there it will be Winter so is this a Summer plan or a Winter plan?
Well, not really a summer plan, more in October, but it's our "Summer" holiday. Nice time to travel there before the real heat kicks in.

If you're not walking, enjoy the commute, but from what I've read, Vancouver's even worse. Hope you're not taking public transit because that is an effing mess.

Well I'll be in our corporate condo for the first few months and that is only about a block away from work. After that I am definitely planning to try and find a place within walking distance since I remember transit being a big pain in the ass. I also can't stand transit in general; I've been walking to work for years and I would like to keep it that way.

Any tips are welcome though, I've really only visited there twice and only know where my work is and where the movie theatres are. :D
