Who has Acrobat Writer?

How hard is it to take a pd file and add the ability to type to the form?
GoPunk helped me with a form like this once. Now I have another form needing attention.
It amazes me that folks make forms with out this feature.

I don't believe it's a function of the pdf file, but of Acrobat Distiller itself.

I think you can change it in the file and use it in the freeware reader.

Yes, you can do that. If you give me the file, I'll take a shot at it.

FYI, it won't work if the character your trying to add isn't instantiated in the file (unless the creater chose to embed all fonts when distilling the file).

hmmm... i've made a couple PDFs and edited a couple others when the fields were messed up...

you can just edit the field so that you can type on the form in the .pdf document. just make a box and give it a field number or something like that.

Ahhh an Acrobat Question

Just so happens I am an Acrobat ACE (Adobe Certified Expert)

pdfwriter does not add the form fields, nor does distiller, unless you created the original file in Word and distilled it using pdfmaker (A plugin that comes with Acrobat for Office MS products)

You need the full version of Acrobat to be able to add the form fields for you to fill out. There are a couple plugins that may let you do it in reader, but from what I have seen, they do not have the flexability that Acrobat has.

Want to send the pdf my way I would be happy to get it where you can fill it out onscreen.
