who has a water dispenser / delivery at home?

Have an opportunity to use points to get a "free" hot/cold water dispenser so I'm wondering if it's worth it to get Poland Spring home delivery. There's like a $4 delivery surcharge every month I choose to get a delivery so I figure I'd get like 3 x 5-gallons to last us a while, but then I have to deal with these big jugs of water in the house. Has it been worthwhile in your experience? Instant hot water does sound appealing too.

I have water delivery at my house. The local water district ever so nicely delivers it through a set of pipes that connect directly to my faucets...

This. Coupled with the other set of pipes that take the water away when I'm done with it, the single bestest invention ever.

I also have a water heater that provides hot water that is plumbed right into the faucet.

We supposedly have the best-tasting too, but... nitrates. In my research, Poland Spring is the go-to.

We have Zephyr Hills, for many years now, the wife refuses to make Tea/Coffee etc with our tap water.

And a ceramic/wood dispenser/stand.

Not sure I'd go for a powered one like that myself.

I've been to places where the tap water tastes AMAZING. Just a clean refreshing cup of water.

I've also been to places where the tap water was disgusting ass crap. If I had the latter, I would maybe invest in a water dispenser if you don't want to fuss with drawing water lines and filters to a specific area (workout room/rec room). In the kitchen, its mostly useless as it's fairly easy to get cheap access to a water filter.

We get water jug deliveries but we dont use a dispenser anymore. Ours had roaches crawl in it

Yeah, fortunately, our tap water here is very good tasting...MOST OF THE TIME. Occasionally it tastes like ass...then I'm glad I have a water filter on my fridge...but that's pretty rare. This is usually the best tasting tap water I've ever had.

Just have a basic one next to the fridge for years now.

This is FL, we have Palmetto bugs running around look like Godzilla next to NY roaches.

Well, ya do if you don't control them at least.

Only 15 gal per month? I go through more than that by myself, probably 20-25 gal.

I bought a cold water dispenser off of Craigslist a number of years ago for something like $50. Then I would rotate several 5 gal jugs bought at the grocery store. Storing and moving the 5 gal jugs became a chore. Since I stored them in the basement, it meant lugging 45lb objects up and down the stairs a couple times a week. You'll have to deal with that even if you have them delivered.

So I got rid of the dispenser and now I buy 1 gal jugs of water at the grocery, three to five at a time. The gal jugs are actually cheaper per gallon, too. I keep two in the fridge, so there's always cold water and one under the sink for coffee, tea and cooking. Their smaller size also means I can store them in the pantry closet in the kitchen.

Some days our water is pretty bad for chlorine. Like fresh out of the neighbourhood pool bad. We've had it tested by the municipality, who says it's a lot higher than it should be. Right at the limit. They're not going to do anything about it though.

Thought about getting a water system put in but we can't justify the cost. So we put up with the foul taste. It's fine about 75% of the time.

We just boil our tap water first. Seems to get rid of the chlorine taste and pretty much any other taste as well. In terms of safety, I mostly trust what comes out of the pipes from the cold side after running it a few seconds -- tastes fine outside of the summer months too. If I were totally worried, I'd just get an RO filter for anything used for drinking.

That's what I was afraid of. Right now we're doing the 1-gal jugs too and thought maybe this was better since the wife does the shopping and she has to lug them home. Oh well.

My tap water is pretty bad. Not as bad as water was in Florida tho. I tried out a good-quality filter but it was meh. Finally sprung for Poland Springs. It's pretty freakin' expensive for just water (like $37/mo), but the water quality is better than bottled water, it's ice cold, and very satisfying. Never thought I'd turn into a water snob, but whatever...it makes me drink more water than I normally would because it tastes good & it's cold. My family also drinks more water because it's not gross, which I prefer them to drink over the sugary stuff. The hot water feature is also really nice for different things like a quick hot chocolate or Ramen noodles or whatever.

I hate the price, especially having to pay for it monthly, but as I am a fan of the health properties of drinking water over junk drinks, I feel it's worth it since everyone in my family actually uses it on a daily basis, which I think is great. As Carson Dyle mentioned, lugging it in the house is a bit of a chore & storing it is kind of a hassle since I have a small place, but we make it work.

Well worth it rather than having the kids drink soda etc I'd think if they are good with that.

Cheaper too I'm sure.

Holy crap that's expensive. I also checked prices on their website and you are basically paying a lot more for them to deliver it. You can buy gallons of water at the market for less than a dollar each and they taste good.
