I have a pair of speaker that cost about $10,000 each but I don't know how I can connect them to my PC using the $600 speaker cables.
Just use a bent paper clip 😉

Just in case my $13,000 amp and $7,000 pre-amp go "poop" on me one day, I might have to try the paper clip trick. Otherwise, how the heck am I going to listen my mp3?😉

Well, how about this: I use both... I have a pair of rinky-dink speakers flanking my monitor, and the second output on my SB Platinum connected to a Dolby Surround home theatre system. Because when I just want to talk to my cousin over MSN, or if I listen to the tune of an electronic greeting card, I don't need to have it all go through my subwoofer, amplifier and the works. When I listen to music or watch a Region DVD, I have all the musical goodness I want over the hi-fi... Does this sound reasonable? It's like the floppy disk. Some people get rid of it altogether, but others still find good use for them sometimes.
