Who got their power knocked out by this ice storm?

It sucked. Lost power Thursday night. Didn't get power til Friday night. And yesterday the power went out twice. Today the internet started working again. There are still some people here who don't have power.

If there is already an official ice storm thread, where is it?
 
I lost power Sunday night around 5pm. We didn't get it back until 10pm or so. No electricity means me and the neighbors get together and drive to Tanasborne to raise hell. We did. It was such a messed up night. Losing power SUCKS.

That is why I check out auction sites for commercial UPS systems that are being dumped because the batteries went bad. You can often get 2-4K watt ups for under $50.
The majority take 24volt inputs and can run continuously as long as they have battery power.

Pick up some marine batteries and your good to go. You can even use the car to recharge the batteries if you store them in banks and have runtime as long as you have gas for the car.
