George Carlin has written some pretty funny stuff.

Leslie Nielsen has a great book; I forget what it's called, though.

Definitly George Carlin. Brain Droppings was the only laugh out loud book I've read. I've talked to people that have read his new book and said its just as funny.

For well-spun yarns, try Garrison Keillor.

Further, go to a bookstore and look at the humour section. Erma Bombeck et. al. write wholesome, humourous stuff that often originally appeared in newspapers as well.

OK, I'll give you this name despite some misgivings: David Sedaris.

A really whacked-out individual, and insanely funny. Unlike Dave Barry, he can get rather, um, foul at times. I've only read a few short stories. He's written three books, mostly collections of essays and short stories, I believe.

Here's a link.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Regards,
Craig

edit: can't spell "David", apparently
