Anyone else just wake up from a power nap? I had that power nap where you don't intend to sleep but lay down on the couch for a minute and next thing you know, you're waking up an hour and a half later.

Thankfully, my pants were still on when I woke up but I got that whole groggy/lethargic daze going on.

Anyone else succumb to a brief stint of sleep today?

Nope. I felt like doing it, but I rather go to bed at a reasonable hour tonight.

No I decided instead of taking a nap I would just wake up at 1:30 in the afternoon.

A 4hr power nap, apparently.

My "big weekend plans" include cleaning up the various items of junk laying around my apartment. Let's just say, that's not an appealing reason to get up and start doing much of anything. Result: A long nap. And now here I am.

I tried yesterday, before I went into work. I laid in bed for 40 minutes then gave up..

Heh.

Yeah I'll lay down on the couch watching TV, or lean back far in my computer chair, and next thing I know I've lost anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. Always feels so great too. :)

Last night, came back home after some drinking, sat on the couch. Then I unfortunately decided to stretch out and essentially lay down. I woke up at 1030 this morning, thinking goddammit I did it again.
Take off my shoes and slip into bed, hoping to only fall asleep for like an hour or two, wake up at 2:30. Yeah...

That's not a power nap, son. You weakly succumbed to the siren call of the unconscious, and probably had a wet dream while your young son and your dog looked on fearfully and uncomprehendingly. Please go change your pants.

And watch out. Your wife will now want to know who "Mona, Ohhhh, Mona" is.

What? You say you're 14 and live at home? In that case, I suspect drugs.

You have disgraced the good name of the MoPHo family. The neighbors are drafting a petition even as we speak, and your parents are once again looking at the shiny, full color brochure for Clenched Ass Military Academy, which promises to make something out of you, though they are careful not to be too specific as to what.

In any event, a power nap is one you plan and time, generally 15 minutes in length.

Just thought I would share. I live to inform.
