Just curious. :) I just bought Manon des Sources on DVD and was watching it last night (hence, my other thread in French).

You might recognize her a little better from her role in Mission Impossible.

I'll admit to being a sucker to a woman speaking French. :D

Talon: Been meaning to rent that movie for awhile now. Most Blockbusters do not carry it, however. From what I recall reading, she spends the majority of the movie in the buff. That alone makes it worth the price.

I have only seen a couple of her films and it has been awhile since the last time I saw one but IIRC she did have a certain amount of grace. Juliette Binoche is another that comes to mind.

Nice stereotyping, you morons. Most French women do in fact shave these days.

Hell, at least they aren't "overly corpulent" like a significant portion of American women.

C'mon, there are many different kinds of beauty... I would call hers 'ethereal'. There is also "earthy", "fiery", and so on and so forth.

In truth, she's so beautiful that she scares me. Like maybe she is really evil... :D I know that isn't true, but it is just my reaction. I'm a little more cofortable with 'earthy' which is what I would call Juliet Binoche (sp) or fiery, which WW is a good example of.

Beauty evokes an emotional response in all of us, and that response is as varied as the kind of beauty there is in the world.

In the end, I think it is all good... if beauty inspires us to be better people.

(Yeah, I know. I'm a little out there, but I felt like posting, so :p )

Yes she is nude in much of it, but I would also recommend the film because it's an interesting study of the struggle between the artist, his wife, his model and of the artist with himself as he tries to complete his masterpiece. The full film is 4 hours long and slow moving at times. Fortunately, the director didn't rush the film and that makes it worth while.

I think some members have been "romancing the hand" a little too long. Perhaps that's where their concern about hair comes from.

Beauty does come in many forms, and I just think that this particular form is astoundingly attractive. :D

Also, in reference to my comment above, I am not saying all American women are fat. Doing so is just as idiotic as saying that all French women don't shave. When I was over there, the "American" trend of shaving was basically followed by most young French women and was gaining even more adherents as well, and this was 8 years ago.

Given that Mme. Beart is a prominent film actress, I'd say the likelihood of her following that "American" trend is quite high.
