Wow, calm down. Seems like your sarcasm meter isn't functioning. Sure I mispelled, but its getting late and my ability to spell left me a couple hours ago. Some people actually like that stuff, I personally do not.

My point was that there are so many different genre of anime, and that there may be one that the original poster might actually enjoy.

Personally, I enjoy watching anime. There is nothing wrong with liking or hating anime.

I don't know what there is to get. I've seen a few episodes of Naruto or whatever and I don't think there is any more allusions, allegories, elergies, or any other "higher order of thinking" than there is in Pokemon.

I'd say Naruto is on par with DBZ (but it's still fun to watch).

Try watching Eva, Melody of Obilvion, Gantz, X, or Berserk.

um... what are you talking about? give me some statistics on that will you please? pokemon and digimon CRAP is definitely geared towards kids and its only natural kids are expected to watch it. which series has teenage boys as core audience? be specific. its so obvious you dont have a clue what you are babbling. let me repeat myself again : anime is just a style, there are all kinda different series. i am sure teenage kids would be nuts about series like Lain and Koikaze.

every time there is a naruto thread, i refrain from commenting on anything on naruto, since i know the series has huge fandom and i dont want to be rude to ATOT naruto fans. with that being said, naruto is definitely geared toward younger audience (=<junior high), as many viewers willingly admit. there is nothing wrong with enjoying the show, but it is a very poor example of what a sophisticated show would be like.
let some grade schooler watch shinobuden or galaxy angel, and i gurantee he or she wont understand half of it. as for us grown ups, we find it hillllllarious.

I know what I'm talking about. Isn't it strange? You say that all Hollywood films are 'crap' and require no thinking. When someone mentions that the core anime audience is teenage boys, you spazz out and start saying that it's a style that consists of multiple genres. Wow! You mean it's like Hollywood films?! You mean it's OK to run around and proclaim that one whole much larger and much more critically acclaimed and much more varied audience with a more profound impact on society institution can be labelled so easily yet the wonderful world of anime cannot?

I guess I should amend my original statement. The core audience for animes are usually little babies, teenage boys, and fat 40 year old balding men that live in their parent's basement. It has to be these people because they are the ones that possess the high intelligence to comprehend anime.

you must have not read the entire thread. in the beginning of the thread i clearly stated "you cant write off all hollywood movies cuz of crap like "soulplane" when there are classics like "the godfather" (yeah, i liked it)." which is what i gave as an analogy. now, this thread has way too many trolls for me to stay politically correct on every single reply i post.

are Van Damme movies they show on TNT crap? i would say so. are all hollywood movies are CRAP? thats not what i meant and again if thats the impression you got, go ahead and read the entire thread.

i got one more episode to go in Melody of Oblivion... from what i gathered (damn spoilers ), i am still uncertain about what they are trying to say or if the series has any symbollic message to convey. who were the monsters anyway? too many unsolved mysteries... maybe i should try watching it again. "the outter space" act was a mild letdown for me with such strong start in the beginning of the show

seriously, tentacle stuff must have been a huge fad in hentai anime industry in 80s ~early 90s. IIRC, japanese media laws prohibit explicit display of sexual intercourse in pr0n, so tentacles what they opted for, or so i heard. again, i am not into that stuff, dont even have enough time to watch good shows
i dont think they make any of that stuff now anyway, but i could be wrong.
