Who else liked the Ferrengi and DS9?

Something for fun but Deep Space 9 was one of my favorites for the characters.

The Ferrengi broke me up, loved Kira and Dax, liked the rest except for the Captain and not for his part but for the Actor in it. I know he is a highly regarded entitiy and maybe good as a technician but I just thought he was mostly a Ham.

Your Thoughts? The Ferrengi are the 1st topic at hand but anything welcome.
 
You talking about Quark or his Brother the mechanic?

I personally always liked Odo, the security shape-shifter. He was a quiet man, had respect of everyone and when he spoke people listened.

 
ok, i'll concede that DS9 wasn't too bad. but we all have to agree that TNG is the ultimate series, and that Voyager is just an insult to it's predecessors, especially in the character department. come on, all they did was take Spock and make him black. bloody awful.
 
Liked the whole Ferrengi Civilization. The Rules Of Aquisition (how many were there at last count?), keeping females at home naked and the like. Just a hoot.

Better a poor star trek series than none at all.
 
Voyager's first few series were a JOKE! I HATED them. But since they brought Seven on, not only is she a good character (not just because of that drool inducing body)but the other characters got better as well. And of course now that the show got better it's about to end.

 
Love the Ferrengi......... Quark, Rom (the new Grand Nagis sp?) and I forget Roms sons name.

Anyone have any idea what the next ST TV series will be about? I heard that it may be set in Kirks era but thats all I've heard.

Nog was Roms' son name and Ds9 rocked. It sucked in the beginning, but when they introduced the Domnion, the Founders and the Defiant, it began to open the can of whupass, lol. it was great from that point on all the way till the end. Admittely though, there were a couple of stupid eps in the last season but it still rocked. sad to see it go away.
 

I actually prefer DS9 over Voyager (by far) and even over TNG. The characters were well set up and the storyline evolved throughout the episodes. TNG is good but i just don't like the one-hour encapsulated storyline compared with DS9. Odo was very cool 😉
