While you gave a valid argument with strong supports, I beg to differ.

Here's why WoW is != bad.

From a game play perspective, I think it's fun. Be it running around gathering a million.... make that a few million things or ganking the oppositions, it is fun. After you run around and kill everything that you could possibly kill and their mothers, you get phat lewtz to show for your efforts. If any nooblets even look at you funny, you can flip out, /duel them and press a few button to see them crumble to their knees at your might with teh shinny phat lewtz. That's on the PVP servers, if you go to a RP server, even more fun can be had. Those night elf or blood elf females can be quite demure in the appropriate settings ;), and man they can /dance.

And as for PVP, that is the funnest aspect of WoW, where else can you run around and freely gank a funny looking toon just because you don't like it? And the PVP system for gears, is by far the best, you get to kill a bazillion things over and over and over and over and over, gaining another gazillion honors, you also get phat lewtz. Now, these phat lewtz gained from PVP are also godly, and will allow you to pwnzor the nooblets with authoritah, as you may have acquired some skilletz while gaining your honors. So, feel free to /point /laugh @ your PVE brethens with absolute mockery because of your 1337ness. And if they even look at you funny, /duel them and show them what kinda skillletz you possess, then flip out at them afterwards.

If you're tired of PVP, you can also engage in a different kind of PVP, this one requires you to type /1, or /2 if you're in a large city. You can tell your fellow WoW denizen how cool you are, and if they get lippy, you can unleash your prowess on teh pwnage with insults you have mastered since 7th grade, call them emo loserz, and then finish off with a Chuck Norris round house kick.

Where else can you have this kind of fun for a mere $15 a month? And if you're really 1337, then you'd pay for the 6 months subscription, which brings it down to $13 /mo. I think that adds instant +25 crit chance to your gears.

PVP in WoW is horrible and candy-assed. It will never match a game like Shadowbane in its PVP.

But Shadowbane failed, and WoW is a huge success, because millions of gamers cant stomache getting their ass stomped, and having to use strategy and politics to survive in a game world that is a threat from the moment you log in, until the moment you log out.

The reason 7 million people play WoW is because its targeted at the masses, hence, easy. No xp penalty, solo all the way to 70. I had 100x more fun playing EQ, but I also had a lot more free time.

Have you ever wondered if you have a problem?

These are classic signs of addictive personality disorder.

Your "addiction" starts to affect other areas of your life like your job.

You should really think about it.

Tell me about it, there's this game called ATOT and I can't seem to stay away from it. It's ok mang, I'm still as productive as I am when I'm at work. Actually, I'm productive 24/7.

Nothing VPN and a blackberry can't take care off.

Yes, I've had way more fun enjoying other mmorpgs as well. WoW is a waste of a large user base, but oh well. As the internet grows, more mmorpgs can thrive at once.
