Who else is getting a flu shot this year?

I got the flu this weekend, but I still plan on getting the shot. Don't get it too soon though... The shot is only effective for a window of time. If you get it too soon, you run the risk of getting sick later in the season. I typically come down with something anyway though. *sigh*

Getting the flu sucks. Some strains are worse than others. One year, I got the Hong Kong flu. It was a disease for psychadelic masochists. The hallucinations were great, but only if you could handle the pain. :disgust:

Flu shots range in price from free to $10. That's cheap protection. I wouldn't pass it up.

I've never had the flu yet so every year I hope is like the last. It's gambling so I hope I don't lose anytime soon! I hear the flu is God awful bad so I certainly haven't missed anything

The worst of the worst is going into the Doctor's office with something else during flu season and praying like crazy I don't walk out with something worse than I went in with. I swear if it didn't look stupid I would put on one of those decontamination suits until I made it back into the parking lot I haaate being sick.

I work in a school.... definitely will be getting the flu shot! I have over 100 opportunities each day to catch the flu from someone being sick in my classroom.

My work situation is such that I am more likely to catch it than most. Having had the flu, I know I dont want to get it again

BTW, the flu shot is not early, but on time. Unfortunately the last several years saw problems with production that made it available later. Just seems early this year for that reason

I got talked into getting the flu shot for the first time last year (work was buying for it, then even had a nurse come into the office). It was great... I still got the flu

I got one back in May at Ft. Benning, along with 6 other various shots, and promptly got quite sick a few days later. Now though, I think I'm immune to almost every disease on the planet.
