It's okay, fellow Californians!!

What other state can say that they went skiing in the morning on Mammoth Mountain, and then relaxed on Santa Monica Beach in the afternoon?!

how is mammoth compared to big bear?
No comparison. If you haven't gone yet, go now. Make sure you stop in Bishop for some jerky.

Tshh. We got lake tahoe. Pretty damn nice too.

Of course, I'm oringally from So Cal (orange county) and I like it down there more (except the traffic).

Lake Tahoe is the only thing I like more about No Cal.

Yeah, Tahoe kicks ass, but from SoCal it's another 3-4hrs which makes it unreasonable for a weekend stop unless you're truly hardcore or flying. Mammoth, though, is as good or better than any one Tahoe resort; but it's only one mountain as compared to the variety of mountains at Tahoe.

What a bunch of wusses.

I'm from Oregon, currently experiencing my first winter in PA.

I'm used to much more moderate temps, but it's below freezing pretty much every night right now & I still have the heat turned off in my apartment.

Here's hoping being in the middle apartment keeps my heating bill low, I'll live off stolen heat all winter if I can.
