I hate them. Crotch rockets are annoying as well, but not near as loud as Harleys. The people that ride them are usually pretty annoying too.

Oh, that's nice. How many other people do you wish death on?

i'm obviously exagerrating. but i do hear them on the highway early in the morning sometimes, really late at night, or in parking lots revving them up and acting like dumbasses. ymmv.

I also hate the sounds of harleys, fart cannons on rice burner cars or loud exhaust on some pos truck. People that need attention like this are all losers in my eyes.

I don't think anybody said rice rockets sound good. In face with stricter noise emmision regulations going into place in the next couple years, I think haters from both camps should be pleased.

I love the Harley sound, although I admit that some owners go a little overboard on it.

Harleys sound the way they do because the engines aren't really a V-Twin (though they look like one and are advertised as one), but a Radial Twin. The design makes it so the 2 pistons aren't exactly 360 degrees opposed to each other, which results in an interesting off-beat sound.

Because there aren't any Ferrari's in my area, the most pleasing automotive sound to my ears is when a crotch rocket bike hits the revs fast and high through a couple gears. Love it =)

I've also heard those 10,000rpm allmotor Civics make a nice tune with proper exhaust.

A Harley most certainly is a v-twin.

Harleys sound good when tuned properly and have good pipes. I don't like them too loud though...

I like crotch rocket sounds more than harley sounds. The latter is just agitating whereas the sportbikes make similar sounds to ricers... which aren't as bad as harleys. I've mentioned this on the board before... the guy around the corner from here runs his harley for a half hour Sunday mornings... STFU - nobody cares you have one.

Why is that? Hmm?

Do you understand what it is like to have 90+ horse and only 500lbs between your legs. And that's with just a 600 with todays "ricers".
Different types of Bikes for sure for different styles. The baddest Bike is the Hayabusa but that's for serious Adrenaline Junkies, Harley and the Metric Cruisers are for ..well for cruising. The most annoying sounding Bikes are the two stroke "Wing Dingers"

For me Cruisers are like a Steed, todays Iron Horse. At least they don't leave Road Apples all over the place:)

I love the sound of my Harley, summer isn't here until i take it out and rev it high.

Becoming a father made me trade in my large bore Hayabusa for a Harley.

You can get the same sound from a $60 two-cycle string trimmer.

Being in Europe did you get one of those older Classic Harleys ? They are near impossible to find here because most of them have been imported over to Europe, especially Scandinavia. I can't remember the last time I've seen a Knuckle or a Flat head (well besides in a Magazine of a Bike Show)

I don't mind as long as my ears don't bleed when they drive by. Otherwise I'd like to stick a metal fence post through their front spokes :)

Originally i was looking for a fat boy, original style, almost bought it, even traveled to Norway but the POS sold it and all i had was a phone call, nothing much to do about it, i bought a 95 FLHR Road King instead.

It took some getting used to riding that bike after being used to the Haya.

It's like driving an old skool mustang when you are used to a ferrari. Both great but for different purposes.
