Who else doesn't have a TV service?

About 8 months ago I decided to just get rid of tv and I haven't missed it since. I will still play games on my computer and with some of my friends on console (go 4 controller halo action or 4 player mario kart!!) but thats about as far as it goes.

It is weird hearing people talk about movies and tv shows that I have no idea about. Whenever I am at a friends house and the tv is on every commercial is new to me which is kinda cool. There are a few shows I miss like the chapelle show but I have season 1 dvd for that 😀.

Overall it is worth saving the 30 bucks a month and not wasting my time laying on the couch watching crappy shows. Everyone should at least try it sometime

I have an antenna hooked to the tv just to see the CBS Evening News every once in a while, and Gilmore Girls every Tuesday 🙂

I'd cancel all cable service and be happy with just my DVD player, TV and rabbit ears if my girlfriend would let me get away with it.

My fiance and I turned off our digital cable and had our cable internet throttled back to the lowest setting...saving for wedding/honeymoon and that was the first to go. 🙂

Can honestly say I don't miss cable TV at all. We have plenty of DVDs and friends with DVDs.

No antenna or signal at all. TV is permanently set to the xbox.

I never miss it except for some late night viewing when I don't wanna put in a dvd or watch a half hour episode of anime streamed from my computer. Oh, that and when the GF bugs me about her not having anything to do and to get cable already.

well..ummm I dont think you get the point..just because you watch tv on the computer and not on the television doesn't mean you dont watch tv lol

Well if they would release CSI earlier I would not have to watch it...plus during football season I have an IV leading to the tuner card.

I just downgraded my cable service (I was paying $41.50/mo. for about 75 channels that I rarely watched), and now I'm paying $12.50 a month for broadcast networks, ESPN, TNT, TBS, and C-Span. And I usually just watch network TV anyway.

Not since November.

No point in paying $55 a month to watch commercials anyway.

HDTV sounds nice though. I watch a lot of DVDs. But when I want to watch something I am stuck watching the Rabbit Ear stations.

You can pretty much download anything off the usenet if you miss it.

Daily Show and That 70's show for me.

Cheapest I can get with ESPN is 44 a month...hence I pay them nothing.

haven't had cable TV for about 2 months now. i don't miss it a bit, download shows i really want to see, watch local networks for simpsons at 5:30

wife misses it pretty bad though

Dropped satellite back in January to save some $$$ even though it was only $24/month.
Have an antenna set up that gets NBC, ABC, CBS & Fox pretty well, but I very rarely watch it anymore. Don't miss it either.
