Who else buys gadgets and never uses them?

There are times where I buy things because they are so cool I have to have them, but never use them.

I'm staring at this zune HD I bought, but I never use an MP3 player, and I literally have not used this thing at all except to play around with it and try it out.

I want a GPS for my car and would also like a netbook but I would rarely use either of them. I just feel the NEED to have them.

/end weird random rant. its late....

I want a smartphone like a droid but I probably wouldn't use it a lot. I would use it a ton as an mp3 player though, and I legitimately need a GPS device since trying to read paper maps printed off of google maps while flying down the freeway isn't very safe.

I can't really justify buying things like this based on how much I NEED them, because I need them. I just justify them as toys - if I think they're cool and I'm okay with spending the money, why not?

The only things I don't use as often as I'd like are the PSP/DS. I use the mp3 player a ton, my iphone a lot (and all of the smartphone features) as well as most other gadgets I get. It's only the portable gaming that I can't get into as much.

Don't buy gadgets you know you have no use for?

I didn't invest in the more expensive MP3 players until I started using one a LOT. Before then, I bought the cheaper Creative ones and then a Sandisk Sansa. The Sansa was great for when I was exercising but that basically the only time I used it.
I have my MP3 player going constantly whenever I'm walking to or from class or getting food on campus, and have hooked up in my car whenever I'm driving. My Zune got a lot of use, and my Zune HD gets the same amount of use.

I had a Windows Mobile smartphone and made decent use of it, but a lot of little quirks prevented it from being a painfree or enjoyable experience. I have the Droid now, and this thing has completely infiltrated/integrated into all aspects of my life. I  my Google overlords.

I haven't turned my Wii on in over a year.

I have a PS3 and Xbox 360 also and use the PS3 mostly for streaming/playing movies and have only actually turned my Xbox on maybe 3 times total now.

I do use my iPhone constantly and am getting the Moto Droid this week to give it a try (will return if not happy).

One gadget I bought that I'm surprised how much I actually do use it is my Sony ebook reader (PRS-505). I use that thing non stop. I love having all the books I could want with me in one slim device that's easy on the eyes.

I use my iphone all the time. I use it on my way to and back from work (1 hour each way). Also use it when I'm home. I'm hooked on the apps. There's tons of games on it that keep me busy. My gf says that I'm glued to it.

I use my netbook (Dell 9 hackintosh) also but not as much as I thought I would since I always have a desktop with me.

If not for my busy work and personal schedule I'd play the xbox a lot more. There are so many games that I wanna play but I just don't have the time.

The Wii doesn't get used enough in my house. All other gadgets do. I thought it was funny because I popped a memory card from my friend's camera into my Rebel T1i after 3 months of use and the file names worked out because I already took FAR MORE shots in 3 months than she did for a whole year or two..

I'm getting much better at not going this now that my disposable income is gone. :/

I bought an eeepc in Nov 2008, sold it in May 2009 because I almost never used it. The buyer was very happy and called it pristine. :p

I bought one of those fleshlights but the women won't leave me alone long enough to give me some time with it.

It's hard being a pimp.

I second the "disposable income" bit... I used to have all sorts of gadgets laying around that I didn't use, but now that I'm all grow'd up with kids old enough to need $$$, I'm having to limit my purchases to things I KNOW I'll use. Sux getting old and all responsible-like...

Not me mate :p

My PS3 I use to watch videos and blu ray. I rarely use it to play games :p

My PSP I use to use a lot when I was commuting to Uni, but since I graduated I rarely use it even though I commute to work. I suppose I should use it.

iPhone I use a lot for mp3's, make calls, watch videos etc.

The 5D I rarely use so I'm going to flow it...anyone want to buy one? :p

I don't use either my Nintendo Wii or my Acer Aspire One netbook enough to justify the money I spent on them.

I blame the WiiFit for my lack of usage of the Wii... that game was so annoying that it soured my opinion of the entire gaming platform.

The Acer Aspire One would be great if it had a slighter bigger keyboard and slightly larger screen... but then it would be more of a small laptop and less of a netbook.

I don't use my Roomba 530 much, either... I can't use it without keeping an eye on it, because the damn thing knocks over my fireplace tools and sucks up cat toys and cables. Pet hair jams up the brushes, too.

Come to think of it, I don't use my Canon Digital Rebel XT as much as I should, either. I like to pack light, and SLR's in general are kinda bulky once you pack both your telephoto and wide angle lenses.

Well, let's see....

I bought a laptop for school work, but I always ended up doing everything on my desktop.

I bought an ipod video 60gig, and I thought I would watch movies on it and listen to music, but the battery doesn't last long enough to watch video, screen is too small, it doesn't play many movie formats, and I rarely listen to music. On top of this, itunes must be the worst software ever for music xfer. Every time I have to use it I have to learn it all over again. It's a friggin' nightmare. All I want is to put some songs on my damn ipod, but itunes starts bsing me about these... libraries and stuff. I don't want any damn libraries, just let me click and drag songs damnit!

I end up using my ancient RioS30S more than my ipod. I'd like to sell this thing, but having paid $400 for it, $100 is just not good enough since it's in perfect condition.

Got a PSP because I thought I'd be playing emulators and games on it, but somehow the controls are horrible. The analog stick is very unresponsive and games get boring quickly. Playing mario and sonic from SEGA and SNES days was fun for about 5 minutes... GTA Chinatown wars got boring in about 2 minutes as soon as I realized it's impossible to control cars... I thought Fighting Games would be awesome on the go, but PSP's controls are really not designed for fighting games.

My PS2 suffers from the same problem. The damn analog sticks.. Who thought of these when there's D-Pad? analog sticks are too sensitive and imprecise, and hence, control becomes a nightmare...

Bought a SFIV TE stick to play SFIV on my PC some time ago. I thought it would make me an uber SFIV/KOF player. Heh.. Little did I know.. $150 down the drain...

My Blackberry Bold doesn't get much use either because I'm too cheap to pay internet fees and texting fees.

Now I am thinking about the ipod touch, Xbox 360 or a PS3. But really, I bet I'm not going to listen to music on the ipod, and watching videos will be a chore. Most apps are useless too. And the consoles will probably sit there collecting dust just like the PS2...
