According to Marvel, Thing has strength of 6 (out of 7) and durability of 6 (out of 7). The Hulk is 7/7 in those categories.

Hulk is smarter, faster, and has better energy protection too.

Marvel, DECADES ago, put out a power rating for its various superheroes. Thor was ranked #1...he is a GOD after all, and as long as he has his hammer, he's invincible. Hulk was always ranked above Thing in strength.

Thing VS Hulk was the subject of a few comics during the '60's-'70's. Invariably, it was a draw but almost always the Thing getting the worse of it and with the rest of the Fantastic 4 coming to his "rescue".

iirc from the old marvel rpg, hulk had class 1000 strength. that was as high as the scale went.

The hulk may be stronger, but for some reason I like the thing better. Maybe because he can carry on a conversation or something.

Well, there was the Gray version of the Hulk aka Joe Fixit. He was intelligent and and almost as strong as the Green version.

Yeah, but then they all merged into one green smart Hulk, just as strong as original Hulk, but with David Banner's personality (mostly) running the show.

First, I shall make the announcement that I am NOT a comic book geek, but they were cheap at the time (35¢ !!!) and I bought mebbe a hundred or so over about a three year period. One issue I remember is a fight between Hulk and the Thing, and it was fairly even until The Thing's GF came out to help him (bahahaaa, wimmin!!) and he looked towards her as Hulk threw a massive meathook haymaker and broke his neck. Now, this being the FF4 ... he did go on to live (and fight) another day, thats just the way it is in comics. Hell, Superman died a lotta times as well ...
