I know you said religious figures were exempt...but Hitler is really a great guy.

He killed alot of Jews.:clock:

Quite a few fags, too.

Who had the higher body count? Hitler or Stalin?

Doesn't matter, Stalin was a dirty commie, so he doesn't count.:D

Agreed on Caesar Augustus--most impressive statesman I've ever read about.

Churchill impresses me greatly. Read his biography and be amazed at what a full life he led.

Lincoln and Hamilton--Lincoln greatest US president (sometimes cliches are cliches for a reason), Hamilton greatest impact on US history

"Greatest" in a bad sense--Lenin, Stalin, or Mao. Depends on how you want to apportion blame.

But the Nazi aesthetic is and was way cooler than the Nazi.

and that peace lasted about 200 years ("Relatively speaking, Pax Romana was the most peaceful two centuries of human history."). I can't think of 2 decades of peace in recent history; imagine two hundred years.

so...agreed with Augustus

you're probably being sarcastic, but i do believe some politicians are truly great. the likes of alexander hamilton, thomas jefferson, henry clay, daniel webster, lincoln, franklin can all be considered amongst the greatest people in history imo.

it is kind of hard to really name a greatest person ever though. they are all great in their own respects. i mean, how can you compare a scientist to a politician, a politician to a philosopher?

Most definitely it would have to be John Moses Browning and <insert first name here> Messerschmitt.
