Who do MODs lock this, asks VTrider?

So I hit the reply button, ready to dive in an excellent discussion concerning religion in the Off Topic Forum and then I'm greeted with a not so pleasant 'thread locked' message!

Seems that a MOD replied basically that this could of been an excellent discussion, but was crapped on instead. Although I saw some bitchin and moaning going on, there were also a good amount of critical feedback also. I just dont' get it, serious question here - I'm not being sarcastic. It's also in the Off Topic forum, which IMO should allow a little more lienency (sp?), perhaps a particular MOD felt offended by the message topic and the inccuring messages that it generated?

I think that the mods should take a firm stance one way or another on religious posts, if they allow, allow all, if they ban, ban all, just my opinion though, religious threads are the threads usually with the most posts in them

Yes and they also tend to be flame wars, which are not needed or wanted here.

Hey when they get out of hand they should be locked.

Well compared to threads like this Incredibly inane poll sometimes flames are a welcome relief from the stifling stupidity and Neffism.

i want to see religious threads at anandtech like i want another hole in my head.....ban, lock, whatever.....
