My wife found a box with two kittens in it last week, who knows how many other kittens were there. We guess they were only three weeks old. One of them has died, it was too far gone, didnt last the night. The other one will make it.

How the fook could some one do that???

Could you drop this off??

I'd like to tie up the person that did that in a plastic back and send them down the river. There is nothing worse than someone hurting a defencless animal or child.

This one sure is cute. Im not a huge cat fan, but this one is growing on me.

Heck, it seems pretty smart....it uses the litter box already.
It thinks Im a jungle-gym, which is fine...but I sure wish it didnt walk with its claws:)

People are simply mean...

About five weeks ago, there was a sign in my apartment building - badly written piece of paper - that someone was giving away for free a 8 month-old orange cat. We have a cat of our own, so did not pay much attention (except for the "poor thing, I hope someone will take it" observation). Three weeks ago, as we came back from an evening walk, there was this orange cat in front of our building, and it followed us inside. I picked it up. I've never seen such a skinny cat - it must've had under two pounds. It's full grown, but looks pretty young. Very intelligent, too, and clean...

I put posters in the area that I found a cat, but guess what, nobody replied.

My guess is that the person who posted the original advertisement just threw the cat out when nobody wanted it. Maybe even took it out someplace and abandoned it, and it found its way back. Obviously, it was mistreated, and it didn't manage to get food on its own.

So we took it - we didn't want another cat, but what can you do? It was so hungry and weak.. the alternative is the stray animal shelter, and we all know what they'll do to them there, if nobody adopts them :(

Bastards...

edit: Dang it, love1u0, your kitten looks just like my Xena used to look when we took her from the flea market... and indeed, what a flea circus she was hosting, poor thing!

If you keep the animal, please take care of it - besides getting rid of fleas, you must vaccinate and de-worm it. Make sure its ears are clean - abandoned cats accumulate a lot of yucky stuff in their ears, and you have to put peroxide gel to "melt" it off...

Poor kitties! It was great of you take them in and try to save them! I can't understand how anyone could drop kittens on the side of the road and leave them to die. It's horrible! :(

That is a cute kitty!

Now you know how we ended up with 10. Every one of ours is a rescue of some type.

Knowing this place...those kittens will spontaneously cease to be here shortly!

;)

But, :| to the people who dumped them.

Kitties are so cute. I never had one, I had a dog but I would like to have both a cat and a dog when I grow up.

I'm sorry to say that the world is a cruel place, but they are just kittens. Just imagine that there are about 25% of the world poplulation goto bed hungry. And, I'm not too sure if crib death still is a common occurent in China or not, but at one point during the 90s there were almost 10% of girl babies infant went missing (drown, crib death, lost) out of China population.

http://www.nd.edu/~afreddos/papers/herbert.htm

"Citing statistics from a Chinese sampling in 1995, Layely noted that among 4-year-olds there are 115 boys for every 100 girls; among 3-year-olds, 119 boys per 100 girls; among 2-year-olds, 121 boys; among 1-year-olds, 121 boys; among children less than a year old, 116 boys per 100 girls."

http://www.geocities.com/heartland/vista/1457/whyadopt.html

"I don't want to leave you with the impression that ALL little Chinese girls are doomed from birth. But China is so vast, with SO many people... Consider this: thr current population is one and a quarter billion, give or take. Say their population-control method (one child/family) has worked, and the birthrate is down to something sustainable, like 1:10; that means 125,000,000 babies per year. Human Rights Watch says the ratio of boy to girl-births in China is now about 116 to 100; that means almost 58 million girls born per year. With millions of them named something like Chow Di: "Bring a Son Next Time", or Lai Di: "Gain A Son", or Yin Di: "Win Me A Son", or Bao Di: "A Son - Guaranteed (Next)" - suddenly, one million orphan baby girls doesn't seem so outlandish, does it?"

it's easy to abandon an animal if they don't make noises that you can hear. you just leave them and walk away....

nevertheless, its a horrible thing...

We take good care of our animals. I have another cat that has had to go in to get her teeth removed. She has some problem with her gums. We thought about re-naming her with the dollar figure we have had to spend on her...like here 300 dollars, here kitty kitty.

I grew up just outside of East St. Louis IL, and you want to talk cruelty. Kittens with the tips of their tails burned, that sort of thing. You tended to go places as a family (minus my two parents, who both were heavy drinkers) and we came across some other kids that dumped a kitten in turpentine and were going to set it on fire. It's amazing that both of my sisters could beat up most guys their age at that age, and they were fast (caught one of them and beat the crap outta him). I've never been in a fight as an adult, but that is one thing that would definitely get somebody hurt if I saw it.
