I think I want to experiment with blonde tipped hair...dark at the roots, blonde at the tips. My natural hair is a fairly deep brown. What kind of men's hair products should I look at? I've seen something called "Feria by L'oreal" haircolor. I don't want to do the bleached/Sun-In crap. Or should I just have my hairdresser do the coloring?

Yea, I know, uhhh, haircoloring, that's for girls.

I've used both both the Herbal Essences and Feria' to bleach my hair. They both provide nice results, but I prefer the Feria. If I remember correctly the Feria is also cheaper.

If your hair is fairly dark and you are only using colour and not bleach.... you are going to end up with orange hair. Get your hair dresser to do it they are the proffessionals!

Get it done professionally. I have a friend of mine who's a professional hair stylist do it for me. The products she used are supposed to be safe for your hair roots. According to her, you could only get these products if you are in the hair styling industry. I had her cut my hair short and colored it fire red. It's real cool, because it glows under black light.

I asked my stylist about getting my hair colored in the past but she said "you seem too conservative for something like that". So I put in on the back burner. :/ I just need a change now.

Actually, you don't really need to spend the money to see a pro. Just go to something like a Sally Beauty Supply, tell them you want white hair and they'll tell you what to buy and how to do it. I have med-brown hair and was able to get it bleached out without any yellow/orange in it. Looked pretty sassy. :p

Fausto1 is right, those beauty supply stores can hook u up. I had a chick i knew bleach mine blonde, she picked up some stuff from a beauty store and it went WHITE quick (and i have very dark brown hair)

i tried re-doing it myself a few months later w/ the herbal essences stuff, and it turned the same color as my cat (the orange one). In fact, my wife took a picture of me w/ him as a kitten sleeping on my chest while i was sleeping, and the colors were almost the same (his hair was a bit lighter when he was a kitten)

i wonder if the Maxim hair color is any good?

I used Loreal Quick Blue bleach and the creme stuff you mix it with.

Though I didn't use it for just frosting, I bleached my whole head. In about a week and a half's time enough brown hair had grown out to make it look frosted though.

It burns like hell and takes about 3 hours/applications, but works really well on my dark brown hair.
