I've ofen wondered about the type of people who buy the things that are advertised on the back page of magazines like the National Enquirer. Generally they're things like a plate commemorating Princess Diana and with a caption something along the lines of: "Do her memory justice"
Or else the ads are for porceline dolls that look useless with the heading:
"Give Angelface a good home"
Or even a teddy bear or something made of bronze with an equally stupid heading.

Who buys these things? They generally cost about $59.99 and "come with signed certificate of authenticity", as if anyone is going to challenge you that your "Angelface" isn't the real deal!!

Who wastes their money on those things?

Magazines like People, Newsweek and even Time are no better nowadays. :disgust: I rarely get my news from printed material anyway.

I knew someone would reply with that. I used the Enquierer as an example, the ads are also on TV guides etc.

I feel sorry for the person who runs one of those operations.....imagine having to look your kids in the eye every night knowing you ripped some old lady living off of social security that saved up her month's saltine and baking soda money to purchase one of your $5 porcelain pieces of trash that has been bought off a surplus factory in China and marked up 5000%.......man that would suck.....

Well... everything is motivated by self-interest... and it's obvoius that this person cares more about profit than sympathy for the old ladies.
