Who buys a funeral casket ahead of time and then has it shipped to them? o_O

Titan Casket Heritage Steel Funeral Casket

I can see purchasing a plot and making arrangements ahead of time, but having a casket in the garage waiting for use? :confused_old:
People with terminal illnesses getting their stuff in order? Someone that doesn't want to further burden their family at their death (yes, you can get reimbursed from the person's estate for funeral expenses, but that can take time)? Someone that experienced a recent death and needs a casket and doesn't want to pay funeral home prices?

My parents prepaid everything for their funerals and picked out their own caskets. It made dealing with the funerals so much easier for the survivors. No arguments about "what they would have wanted".

I tried to get one for my wife for her 30th birthday. But even the used ones (yes they sell used ones - usually the display ones at a funeral home) were out of my budget. She was not amused by my attempts

No good, doesn't biodegrade. For funerals, I'm with the Muslims: wrap the body in a sheet and get it in the ground by sunset. Do the memorial service later.
A little more expensive, and doesn't have convenient amazon shipping, but they have something for communists also...

That’s more like it except that burlap would make my butt itch. I’d hate to find out that there really is consciousness after death and spend eternity with an itchy butt.

My mother. Had everything finalized before except the headstone. Made it really clear beforehand where things were and what to do.
