Who Assimilated the AIX?

I was checking the weekstats for various OSes, and I noticed that within the past week, someone gained a machine (or machines) that turn out 9k blocks a day! Whoever runs this, what are it's specs =).

I know I saw this fellow's post (he was asking questions about which was the best core to run on it), but for the life of me, I can't find it or think of his nick now. 😕

I do however, remember that it was a fairly good sized MP IBM box. I'm not sure if I'm remembering right, but I think he had two of 'em and one had PowerPC chips (of some nature) and I *think* this is the machine that we're seeing in the proxy stats. 🙂

In any case, I agree, he should step forward and be recognized (again) because this is a sweet assimilation. 😉

That would be me...
It is a 32 CPU sp2..

it is my database server,
Apparently it had a few spare cycles.....
I am i a little bit disappointed as to the output, although the beauty of the box is the IO throughput that i get out of it. (i also have 2.5TB of disk on the bad boy)

I also managed to scrounge up a few other machines to go with it.

I wouldn't be too disapointed with output, if that one PPC machine(You said the other was not working well) has 32procs, it means each one is doing around 1mkey to pull down 9000blocks a day. Very impressive for one machine, no matter which way you look at it. I envy you, and I am glad that I may be getting some dual (or quad, depending on when that announcment comes) G4s, hopefully keeping Macs in 2nd place 😉.
